  • Congratulatory Message
I’m glad to host the 2025 Korea–Australia Invitational Design Exhibition.

I’m also glad that relationships between Korea and Australia are developing not only through both governments but also through private activities.

Nowadays, the number of Koreans living in Australia is increasing, and the number of students, including those in English educational training programs, is also rising.

Korean tourists visiting Australia are also increasing consistently.

Both nations have sister-city relationships in many cities and are fostering more intimate friendships.

I expect more meaningful exchanges through design between the two nations.

Design is a unique field that embraces rapid, future-oriented new techniques.

This philosophy of multimedia design fits the philosophy of Seoul Cyber University, and it is essential to adopt new educational directions and technologies.

It’s a meaningful event to have exchanges in the field of design.
    Congratulatory Message
It’s a great honor for me to hold the 2025 Korea-Australia Invitational Design Exhibition.

The design field is progressing in succession, from analog to cyber and AI techniques.

Seoul Cyber University educates students with leading design techniques and exhibitions with new technologies to lead the world.

Seoul Cyber University will adopt the future-oriented techniques rapidly and will take the leading role in future design.

Korean and Australian governments support interchanges of education, culture, tourism, and media techniques and have recently shown the eye-opening development of relationships between both nations.

I expect that we may share both developments through continuous interchanges with designs and Seoul Cyber University may have a central role in this.

I send my gratitude especially to Prof. Jared Donovan at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane Australia devoting to organize the exhibition and introduce innovative technology in realm of robotics, President Euna Park, at Korean Australian Visual Artists(KAVA) supporting the exhibition and Ms. Jenny Kim to organize Australian design part actively.

I appreciate it that Australian designers and Korean designers participated in this wonderful exhibition and expect to develop together in design even in the future.
    Congratulatory Message
I congratulate to held ‘2025 Korea-Australia Invitational Design Exhibition’.

Australia is a land of dream.

Most of all, Australia has various kinds of living creatures, natural environments, wide territory, clean air, tropical bushes in northern part, red dessert in the middle and snowing in south east area.

Australia is the land of freedom, equality, democracy, the first nation accepting women’s right to vote and one of members of founding UN.

Now, living in the middle of worldly hardships, it’s a meaningful and well-timed event to invite designers from the nation symbolized as peace and safety.

Korea and Australia share the same philosophies such as freedom, equality, peace and safety.

Through exchanging both cultures, especially by sharing both designs through both designers will devote not only to study techniques and trends of both designs but also to keep the world in peace.

I appreciate Australian representative designers and artists Prof. Jared Donovan at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane Australia, introducing design of Robotics as a leader of the new interactive technologies, President Euna Park, at Korean Australian Visual Artists(KAVA) and Ms. Jenny Kim, young and active Korean Australian Visual director, artist and designer who devote to organize Australian design part. I also deeply appreciate all participating Australian designers, Australian Korean designers and Korean designers.

I hope both nations may have more active relationships and developments in designs in the future.
    Congratulatory Message
It is my pleasure to support this exciting exhibition of the work of Korean and Australian designers and artists working in the realm of robotics. I especially appreciate the support of the Seoul Cyber University in organising and hosting the exhibition and the kind invitation of Prof. Lee Hyang Ah to contribute. It is a wonderful initiative that highlights the important role that design plays in our contemporary society.

It is vitally important for society that creative practitioners engage with emerging technologies like robotics. Where technologists develop a path of new technical possibilities, artists and designers provide the imaginative ‘spark’ that motivates new perspectives and exploration of alternative futures. Through our engagement with technology, we pose critical questions, probe material qualities, and prompt new opportunities for human relations.

The artists and designers in this exhibition engage with robotics in a variety of ways. Some use robots to build with novel forms and materials within the built environment through architectural robotics. Others turn their interest to the ways in which humans and robots may relate as physical collaborators in work settings through human-robot interaction. There are those who turn to the performative movement and bodily relations inherent to the worlds of performance and creative robotics. For still others, the ‘material’ of the robot itself is critically engaged with as a medium of expression.

It is my hope that this exhibition will open for new connections and collaborations between the work of Korean and Australian designers and artists working in this fascinating area.
    Congratulatory Message
It’s a true honour to serve as the representative designer for the 2025 Korea-Australia Invitational Design Exhibition.

It is incredibly inspiring to see such a dynamic exchange of creativity between Korean and Australian designers— showcasing diverse perspectives, innovative ideas, and the rich cultural narratives that shape our creative communities.

As someone who has grown up navigating both Korean and Australian identities, being part of this cross-cultural dialogue feels especially meaningful. It is a reminder of how creativity can transcend borders, awaken understanding, and draw us closer together. In an increasingly fast-paced world, where moments for connection can feel rare, these moments of cultural exchange invite us to slow down, to honour our roots, and to find common ground through shared expression. They remind us that identity is not fixed, but constantly evolving—and that through art and design, we can make space for that complexity to be seen, felt, and celebrated.

A heartfelt thank you to Professor Lee, Boo Yun for facilitating this meaningful collaboration, and to all the wonderful designers whose work continues to push boundaries and promote dialogue. Wishing all involved a meaningful and inspiring exhibition.
    Congratulatory Message
I am honoured to extend my warmest congratulations as we celebrate the launch of the 2025 Korea–Australia Invitational Design Exhibition. This year’s event marks a significant milestone in our ongoing collaboration. The AKVA (Association of Korean Visual Artists in Australia) was established in 1985, and we will be celebrating our 40th annual exhibition this year. On behalf of all members of the Korean Australian Visual Artists in Sydney, Australia (KAVA), I express our deep gratitude to Seoul Cyber University for their gracious invitation and generous sponsorship. Their support has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life and in strengthening the bonds between our artistic communities.

We recognise how art fosters understanding and dialogue between nations. By exchanging ideas and creativity with Australian peers, Korean and Australian artists forge new friendships and mutual respect. This creative dialogue deepens our appreciation of each other’s heritage and sparks innovation that resonates across communities.

As we look ahead, let this exhibition serve as a beacon of our shared aspirations. We are inspired by the excellence on display and the connections we have built. I am confident that the spirit of cooperation and artistic brilliance will continue to grow between Korea and Australia. Together, we will achieve even greater heights in the years to come. Congratulations to all the artists, organizers, sponsors, and partners who have made the 2025 Korea–Australia Invitational Design Exhibition possible. May this event be a source of pride and inspiration for everyone involved. Sincerely,
    Congratulatory Message

As the Chair of the Department of Multimedia Design at Seoul Cyber University, I am truly honored to be part of this meaningful international exchange. This exhibition serves as a valuable platform for sharing creativity and mutual understanding between Korea and Australia, while showcasing the power of design to transcend language and cultural boundaries.

Our department remains committed to embracing future-oriented technologies and expanding opportunities for global collaboration, with the goal of nurturing creative talents for the international stage. I hope this exhibition inspires our students, alumni, and creative partners to explore new horizons and engage in meaningful dialogue through design.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the participating artists, hosting institutions, and contributors for their dedication. I trust this exhibition will serve as a bridge that further strengthens the friendship between our two nations.
